Construction solution

Products of our company are based on “Platform-Frame” system which is commonly used for wooden houses. The whole building is de facto putting together from wall panels. These are made of wooden frame structure, shelled by appropriate board material, thermal insulated, eventually supplemented with foil and provided with surface layer.

Elementary construction parts are wooden KVH profiles. Its dimension comes from static demands for respective construction. All panels are afterwards hammered or screwed together in the way to guarantee enough strength of whole module.

In the case of oversize burden and strained structure we reinforce the panels with steel or additional wooden profiles. If it is enormous burden structure it is possible to add carbon fibres and combine them with regular steel rolled construction elements.

In current time modules are designed commonly with open diffuse systems. This solution provides that the building can breathes and create better internal climate. Therefore these kinds of compositions are basically designed for office buildings eventually other places with no risks of long-term high air humidity. For places with higher demands on moisture we are working with compositions that are diffusely closed and we add appropriate foil as well.

Modular objects are besides other things excellent with their attribute of mobility. Due to its strength they can in compare to conventional construction reduce time needs and material and finances for foundations. Foundations for our modular houses become from time-tested principle of wooden houses foundations called “crawle-space” method. The whole object is based about 350 mm over the ground. Air can flow under the house and take away redundant moisture. The system is also advantageous from ecological reason, because it prevent unnecessary soil devaluation.

Simple low-story concepts of houses are able to base on ground screws (for example known as Krinner). These screws have in the case of moving the building to another location possibility of drilling out and reusing on another site.
Other types of houses with high operational strain are commonly based on traditional concrete foundations. But even here we are able to work with less concrete compare to conventional construction. Therefore almost every time we are able to save money for foundations.
In the case of basing module on concrete platform we use additional piece of waterproofing foil and geotextile to prevent rising by capillary action into construction and its mechanical damaging.

Roofs

Thanks to functionalistic interpretation of modular houses the most common type of roof is the flat one. Basically provided type is not for walking on it, insulated with basalt wedge cardboarded with waterproofing foil. The rooftop is burdened with river stone. Inwardly to our environmental objectives we recommend also realization of “green rooftop”, water-collectors and installing of solar panels for preheating the water and gaining electricity from solar energy. Due to connection with contemporary wastewater treatment plant technologies we can practically generate energetically independent building. If the architectural solution requires it we can also provide the house with any other type of roof.

Construction

The whole construction becomes from principle of dry constructing. In compositions we use as much as it can be dry board materials and technologies that don’t require the “wet process”, as for example OSB, SDK, MDF and DHF boards. Basically we use SDK and OSB boards for surfacing in interiors. In the case of demanding operations as is moisture weight and chemically resistance we use cement boards called Fermacell.
For rooms with high air humidity we are commonly installing ceramic facing or other resistant surfaces.

For exterior surface we mostly use wooden cladding (pine, larch, etc.) with combination of plaster and any other type of claddings.

Prefabricated modules advantage is also possibility of creating the surface layers with required attributes in our facility. It is created directly on the panels and so we shorten the time of constructing on site where we make only final details.
The final volume of building is result of connection required amount of modules due to investors and technology demands. Module attaching is basically provided by screwed connections deployed alongside the single panels. For modules connecting we use threaded bars or special harden screws. Connecting is possible in both directions – horizontally and vertically. The only restriction is fire safety regulations in every state (for example in Czech we can build up to five-storey building high).

If interiors requirements demand the screw can be embed into wooden part and afterwards hide behind the wall surface. Thanks to this and thanks to suitable façade unification no one will recognize that this is not another conventional building.

3 types of construction:

a) low cost

b) low-energy

c) passive
